Volcán Panama

I am researching if my PN is possibly a result from my Formaldehyde allergy. My PN does not appear below my waist. Strangely it reappears in the EXACT locations every time. I have a theory as to why but would like to hear from others if they experience similar conditions
If you did not have a Formaldehyde allergy test I recommend it. It can cause contact dermatitis
I suggest researching Formaldehyde, we are surrounded by it every day of our lives. It is in almost everything synthetic.… read more

Members connected over the frustrating pattern of prurigo nodularis lesions healing and reappearing in the exact same locations, with some cycling between different body areas over months or even up to a year before suddenly healing. Several members shared concerns about allergy testing triggering new nodules, discussed alternative approaches like light therapy, naturopathic care, and dietary changes (avoiding gluten, dairy, and sugar), and expressed hesitation about medications like Dupixent due to potential side effects. A recurring theme was the profound emotional and social toll of living with visible skin lesions, with members expressing isolation, loss of confidence, and deep gratitude for a community that truly understands their daily struggles.

My Durham suggested that I get the allergy test but I know everywhere they scratch me on my back will turn into a nodule. So I'm really worried about having that done because so far PN has spared my back and I'm not trying to tempt fate.

Mine also reappears in the same place and then it will go from one arm to the next arm. And then start the cycle all over again I HATE IT.

I got contact dermatitis from being allergic to my German Shepherd, got tested for it, but didn't get a test for formaldehyde. You make a good point though because you're right, formaldehyde is in loads of things. However, my PN I still have and my Dermatitis has cleared up. PN takes a long time to heal the nodules.

I feel your frustration and hope to have more to contribute in a month because I’m trying EES (Energy Enhancement System) in the next couple weeks and I am hoping to see an improvement. I will report back. Also, I’m seeing a Naturopathic Doctor in early October who does a very thorough evaluation between diet, lifestyle and health history, Im curious what he will say. When weather is hot I suffer the most and look forward to winter when I can wear turtleneck and feel all covered up. Since I’m not willing to take Dupixent or Rimvoq, there’s not much more my dermatologist can do for me, besides the lightbox therapy fir my skin, which does help the healing . I try to avoid gluten, corn, dairy and especially sugar but of course I slip at times with diet- dermatologists don’t know anything about diet so I’m hoping the Naturopathic doctor will know more.
