Managing prurigo nodularis on the scalp can be challenging. Here are some tips and treatments that might help:

Shampoos:
- Dry Scalp Shampoo and Conditioner by Dove: Some people have found relief using this product.
- Head & Shoulders Shampoo: Another option that has been reported to help.

Ingredients to Look For:
- Glycerin and Panthenol: Help with dryness.
- Menthol and Camphor: Provide cooling relief but test first as menthol can sometimes cause irritation.

Topical Treatments:
- Corticosteroids: Topical or intralesional (injected directly into a skin lesion).
- Immunosuppressants: Help reduce immune response.
- Anticonvulsants and Antihistamines: Can help manage symptoms.
- Anesthetics (Lidocaine or Pramoxine): Only in topical form.
- Phototherapy, Vitamin D, Cryosurgery/Cryotherapy: Other treatment options.

Application Tips:
- Part Hair in Sections: Apply medication thoroughly to the scalp by parting hair in sections.
- Use a Dropper for Liquid Medication: Or dab cream/foam onto your finger and rub it in.

Additional Tips:
- Lukewarm Water for Bathing: Use lukewarm water instead of hot and limit bathing time to 10 minutes.

If these options don't help, it might be beneficial to consult with your dermatologist for more personalized treatment.

I have it on my scalp and really suffered for years not diagnosed.I still have it and it is now on arms face shoulders.Ears? Something is on my ear.I have not found anything that totally relieved it.I am on dupixent.I use clobetasol solution., trimicalone and mupiricin.I use shampoo with a menthol that helps at the time.I use ice packs to the top of my head at night.I also take a small amount of Benadryl sometimes. I am almost 74 and have been 2'years on all this. Before this I only had sx on scalp and back of neck.It is exhausting.
