Members opened up about the connection between stress and prurigo nodularis, with many sharing that they developed symptoms during or after prolonged periods of extreme stress, including family crises, difficult relationships, and personal loss. Several members described how heat and humidity trigger severe flare-ups, making symptoms unbearable, while others shared treatments that have helped manage itching and breakouts, including Dupixent injections, ice packs, Gold Bond medication, and higher doses of Advil. A recurring theme was the vicious cycle of PN causing additional stress while stress worsens the condition, with members encouraging each other to find silver linings, seek therapy when needed, and keep fighting through the difficult days.

Or Megan the cause of this disease, and the disease itself causes stress.

It's all over, my back, my scalp, arms, legs It's unbearable!!!! What the heck is this!!!!!!! I literally think I'm allergic to heat and humidity. Without fail if I get out and break a sweat HERE IT COMES! 😑😑😑😑😑 It's like diving into a huge heated dumpster full of fiberglass insulation on a hot SUPER MUGGY day! As long as I stay inside in the air conditioning I can keep it under control somewhat but if I get hot and sweaty OMG!

I googled histamine and stress, direct correlation. I, too, a nightmare of a marriage 11 years. Then a family of horrific narcissistic people. If it wasn't for my dad, I would have disappeared. It was about the time my brother passed that this pn started but has never gone away. It stands to reason, not easy to shut off the brain.
