Mary if there no cure and no meds or creams have cured or stopped nodules I don't understand what addictive meds are you referring as this is not curable and doctors don't give pain relief as you should know from you specialist team not research

Hi Cathy! Thanks so much! My primary care doctor recommended pain management but I haven't gone. I am not in a lotof pain right now but some always there, really stressed from the pn. I don't want to be a zombie but will reconsider! I think the stress does a job on you too.

I understand. There are addiction issues in my family of origin. I was quite apprehensive about utilizing pain management. It turned out to be an excellent decision for me. The team required two psychological evaluations regarding underlying mental health conditions as well as addictive tendencies. The team also requires a pain management contract be completed stating that only their physician can write prescriptions for medication and it also has a provision that no pharmacy shopping is allowed. The intrathecal pump is what is best for me. I wasn't worried about addiction as much as I did concerned about living with chronic debilitating pain. Pain management studies indicate that if a person is experiencing unrelenting pain, the medication addresses the pain without the presence of euphoria or getting high. I had pain before the diagnosis of PN. All of my treating physicians are aware of the pump. I'm not sure if this explanation is of benefit to you or not.
