Members responded to the question about managing the urge to scratch by sharing a mix of topical treatments and hands-on techniques that have worked for them. Several members found relief using prescription creams like Clobetasol and CereVe anti-itch moisturizer, while others tried tapping the affected area or placing a fabric bandage over nodules to scratch more safely. A helpful tip that stood out was the recommendation to try NAC supplements at 600mg twice daily, which one member said completely stopped their itching when combined with prescription ointment.

I use Clobetesol too and it seems to help a little.

I use clobetasol on my scalp and CereVe anti-itch moisturizer on legs and arms. Both stop the itch.

I have used Clobetesol for my most recent flare. I decided since I had both Derma Smooth and Clobetesol, I would use the Clobetesol as it as not as messy to apply.

I'm not sure about that. Rubbing or scratching, our fingers have bacteria on them (no matter how clean we think we are( so the risk of infection is present. No, the physicians may not live with it but they are focused on providing treatment so it is important to ask questions and hear their recommendations.

You really decrease the risk of infection rubbing. I don't care what the doctors say, they aren't living with it!
