I shower daily. I use warm water and the products I use are either dermatologist recommended or dermatologist formulated. I found that this regimen works for me. I have Sjogren's disease and its hallmark is dryness of the mucous membranes of the body: internal and external.

How often should you shower with prurigo nodularis?

For managing prurigo nodularis, it's better to shower less frequently and keep your bathing time short. Limit your showers or baths to 10 minutes and use lukewarm water instead of hot water, as heat can trigger itching and worsen symptoms.

You're already doing great by using unscented soap and following up with unscented lotion! These are important steps since fragranced products can irritate your skin and trigger flare-ups.

Here are some additional bathing tips:

* Keep water temperature lukewarm, not hot
* Limit bathing time to 10 minutes
* Apply moisturizer immediately after bathing while skin is still damp
* Consider shorter, cooler showers to avoid overheating and sweating, which are common triggers

The goal is to keep your skin clean without stripping away natural oils or triggering the itch-scratch cycle. Less frequent, shorter, and cooler showers tend to be gentler on skin affected by prurigo nodularis.
