I do see that a lot of folks have shared helpful coping strategies, and I appreciate reading them. So thank you all for sharing what’s helped you. 💕
My dermatologist also cautioned me about coming on chat rooms/support groups like this, saying that the only people who join them are people who have not responded to treatment. This is not the case for me though. I joined because I have only been on Dupixent for two weeks, it’s too early to know if it will work for me, and meanwhile the pain is very severe and distressing, so I joined this group to share with and hear from others who understand it. There might be coping strategies others have found.
Thank you Cathy924! Yes, I think I have a nervous system reaction or overactivation that is strongly contributing to my PN. I get very sharp shooting stinging pains in the lesions, and also throbbing pain randomly throughout the day. I read online somewhere that Botox is sometimes used for PN even though it’s off-label. I will see my dermatologist on Monday and I’ll ask about this. I also get my second injection of Dupixent on Monday. Crossing the fingers … thank you for your kind advice!
Wishing you well. 💕
