Doesn't sound like Rheumatoid to me...that's primarily a joint thing. I have had the type of issues you are describing but they were hard to trace because they were throw-offs from other diseases. One possibility is Ankylosing Spondylitis, which can result in muscle issues. I have that particular delight. Good luck finding answers.

Pain with prurigo nodularis is more common than many doctors realize, and it can show up in some surprising ways. The extra inflammatory chemicals that build up in the skin with PN can damage nerves, leading to all kinds of uncomfortable sensations.

- Burning or stinging sensations
- Stabbing feelings
- Tingling
- Pain so intense it's hard to concentrate or sleep

One MyPrurigoTeam member shared that even air from a ceiling fan felt excruciating across their skin. The cramping or squeezing sensation you're describing could be related to nerve pain (also called neuropathic pain), which is associated with PN. Damaged nerves can send confusing or incorrect pain signals to the brain, which may explain unusual sensations like what you're experiencing.

That said, it's really important to keep following up with your doctor about your test results, as they'll be best placed to help figure out what's causing what. Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself — painful symptoms with PN are often overlooked, but they are very real.
