Members shared numerous strategies for managing intensely itchy scalp lumps, with the most frequently mentioned remedies including hydrocortisone ointment for itch relief, tea tree oil rubbed directly into the scalp before washing, colloidal oatmeal creams like Aveeno or Gold Bond, and zinc-based shampoos used consistently twice weekly. Several members described finding success with gentle product lines like Dove or Head and Shoulders Bare, prescription treatments such as Derma Smooth oil or topical steroids, and natural oils like castor oil to moisturize and loosen dry skin. A recurring theme was the ongoing trial and error required to find what works, the importance of sticking to a consistent routine, and the frustration of breakthrough itching when treatments are skipped or when newer options like Dupixent cause unexpected reactions.

I found a zinc shampoo and rinse twice a week works for me. I do have to stay on a schedule though of using it. If I do not use it twice a week, the itchiness comes back. I also only use Aveeno products on my skin- body wash, nighttime balm all over, cream for excema during the day, face cream, face wash..These have helped with the excema and the PN but I am starting dupixent injections to help more.

Have you tried Head and Shoulders Bare? There also is an oil called Derma Smooth which my dermatologist prescribed.

I just got the 2 starter shots a few weeks ago, in 2 days I was covered in hives. I'm going to try the shot again, and if I get hives this time I can't take it. I really don't know what's next for me. Wishing you the best of luck, and I hope this treatment helps you. Prayers

I’m suffering from the same with my scalp. I can say the Hydrocortisone ointment is my life saver. Nothing heals them right away, but the itch relief is a godsend.
