Hi Jan! I have them too. I tried to save one, take to dermatologist. I wasn't able but I would like to know. Let's all try because as you say, painful. And it doesn't go away as long as it's there! Thanks 👍.

You can get them on your face. Maddening this is because quality of life is so low. If you can, take some of those little things to your doctor. Mine is always in such a hurry but I will try and do the same. God bless!

*I also asked derma about the sharp seed- like things and she said she'd need to see one. I actually had been saving some in alcohol to examine more closely but then discarded.
*I feel silly focusing on these oddities but can't understand why an explanation isn't out there for people who are newly diagnosed. On my first flare up (scalp) the spiky seeds were especially noticeable to the touch. It seemed instinctive to dig them out, which can hurt. I fear it is probably hair follicle related and damaging to remove. Will it cause hair loss?
*Having the nodules on scalp where you can't see what is happening is challenging. You rely on what your fingers feel. I am confounded by what my fingers tell me about the larger bumps. One minute it is firm. But with just a little pressure it can split open. Then it feels more like a crater with thick walls. Nothing oozes out but a soft pasty substance can be easily dug out. If you lightly press on the thickened wall edges they seem to deflate and flatten out. Weird!!
*I have heard you do not get PN on face but I have had at least 6 on temple, hairline, cheek, in eyebrow, and below chin/ jawline. *Another exception is at least on face they are not located symmetrically.
I know PN can behave differently. But in this internet age of easy access to so much information it can be frustrating not to find answers to questions we have in common.
