Members empathized deeply with the challenge of finding knowledgeable dermatologists for prurigo nodularis, sharing their own frustrating experiences with multiple doctors before finding effective care. Several members offered practical search strategies, including using websites like Healthgrades, WebMD, and the American Academy of Dermatology to find specialists, preparing thorough documentation for appointments, and being willing to travel to university medical centers like Thomas Jefferson or Princeton for higher-quality care. A recurring theme was hope found through persistence, with one member praising their physician assistant at Schweiger Dermatology for injecting nodules with steroids and trying multiple treatments including Dupixent and Nemluvio, while others emphasized that consistent symptom management, staying informed about new treatments, and stress reduction are essential for living with this currently incurable condition.

Hi Kelly! Sadly I live outside Cleveland with 2 of the best hospitals in the country and did I have trouble getting diagnosed! I'm still not sure if they are right. I feel there are some tests they haven't done. We do need doctors that specialize in this miserable disease.

Currently PN has no cure. I have read posts from sufferers who have had remission from symptoms. In my opinion, I think that consistently managing the symptoms with input from your dermatologist, reading the latest developments in the treatment of the disease, and reducing stress in whatever method works for you is key.

Szerintem is van összefüggés az ilyen tünetek között, mert én is tapasztaltam. Az atkás fertőzés is jellemző, olvastam. Nemhiába viszket. De ezt csak megfigyeltem, mivel nincs orvos aki gyógyitana. Sajnos. Vigyázz magadra 😘

Hi Kelly! I am in Philly and I am being treated by Michaela White at Schweiger Dermatology. She is actually not a physician but she is a PA but I think she is wonderful! I was on Dupixent since January but I recently stopped it because it really was not helping me and I am going to do my first Nemluvio treatment on Monday! In the meantime my last two visits she has injected every single nodule on my body with a steroid to help relieve the symptoms and she put me on some medicine for scabies treatment even though she wasn't sure that I had it but because I had some redness on my belly button put me on this cream, just to be on the safe side, and in the last 3 weeks I have seen significant improvement in my skin and I am sleeping much better! Though I am still itchy but I am hoping that the Nemluvio can help to significantly cure me from this torment that I've been going through since October!

Anyway I very highly recommend Michaela I absolutely love her and I think she genuinely cares about what I'm going through and she is doing everything she possibly can to help me. You probably get more thorough care from the PAs than you do from the actual doctors!
