Nellie, the answer that my Prurigo Team provided you, is a reference to the article I posted about. I think all shampoos are going to sting as long as the digging is happening. I had to follow the dermatologist's recommendations to allow my scalp to heal and then start using the Head and Shoulders Bare shampoo.

When choosing a shampoo for prurigo nodularis on the scalp, look for products with these characteristics:

- pH between 4.5 and 6.0 (this helps reduce itchiness)
- Contains glycerin or panthenol to help with dryness
- Contains menthol or camphor for cooling relief (but test first as menthol can sometimes irritate skin) Show Full Answer

When choosing a shampoo for prurigo nodularis on the scalp, look for products with these characteristics:

- pH between 4.5 and 6.0 (this helps reduce itchiness)
- Contains glycerin or panthenol to help with dryness
- Contains menthol or camphor for cooling relief (but test first as menthol can sometimes irritate skin) Additional tips for scalp care:

- Look for "fragrance-free" products to avoid irritation
- Avoid products that trigger sweating or overheating
- Consider using prescribed topical medications in addition to shampoo
- Apply products carefully, following a systematic approach to ensure complete coverage of affected areas

Remember to discuss any new hair care products with your healthcare provider before use.
