Hi Everyone! So as a result of these posts, I decided to do some research into the current tariffs 's effect on the price of pharmaceuticals to us. According to Forbes magazine and other sources, generic medications are excluded from the current tariffs, and there are exemptions for companies building plants in the United States. The countries of China, Vietnam, and Malaysia are subjects of the 232 rule currently under investigation in regards to national security. Asia supplies 20% of pharmaceuticals. However, Japan and Korea are not affected by the tariffs because they have addressed the trade issues with the United States. Currently, the 100% tariffs applies only to brand name drugs. It appears that the tariff issue has loopholes and is still a work in progress. Hope this helps.

As of 1/26, It’s now $2100

My understanding is that a Medicare subscriber has to pay a maximum out of pocket expense for prescription drugs is $2000. My Medicare advisor informed us that this out of pocket expense is to replace the doughnut hole that subscribers previously needed to manage. I'm grateful that this adjustment was made as it saved me from spending additional money.

Diagnosed with PU last year. Did not have to pay for Dupexient. This year due to doughnut hole (gov’t), I had to pay $2,000 copay before I could get prescription. This was not due to my insurance. Next year doughnut hole is $2,100.
