That's how the majority of mine began…freaked me out!!! I thought for sure something was biting me I didn't have a clue what I had? I almost lost my mind!
Of course I couldn't stand my clothes rubbing against the scabs so I scratched them off. It turned out almost all infected and 95% of my body was completely covered. This disease is a total NIGHTMARE!!!! Now they are popping up as just tiny little bumps you can't see at first but you can sure fill them…itch worse than the big ones!
Has anyone gotten them in personal areas? I hate that because it stays covered, hot and those areas are so hard to heal.

My experience has been that tiny little baby fine hairs have grown around & through nodule (and my skin). The hair eventually dies but sometimes has grown many inches long. The dried out dead hair has been trapped under the skin with old, dried blood (black) or black hair follicle that is larger than the hair. Either way, it feels really good to have that out from underneath my skin. I also suffer from cystic nodular acne post-menopausal and in clearing that condition also helped to clear the PN nodules. Hope this helps you in knowing you are not going crazy, it is a real sensation you experienced, and it is not a bug but sure can feel like one when the hair(s) finally release w/dead skin, scar tissue & dried blood. Feels like sharp needle pokes or bug bites and itches when the hair is unfurling from its tensile strength of pulling against itself. Make sure you keep your skin clean and follow your Derm's recommendations religiously. This is a bugger to cure but it does get better and easier if you keep up good habits.
