Members resonated with the experience of a persistent background itch from prurigo nodularis, agreeing it rarely fully disappears even with treatment. Several members shared what has helped reduce itching, including NAC supplements, consistent moisturizing routines, CBD cream, and prescription topicals like Triamcinolone, Clobetasol, and Tacrolimus used in alternating cycles. A recurring theme was that flares often worsen after illness or major procedures, and many found comfort in knowing others share the same lingering, hard-to-escape itch.

Covington? Covid. Phone does what it wants sometimes

Yes same here! Even though Dupixent has reduced my flare ups and spots immensely, my PN is never fully gone. It is always 'lingering' in the background, I just always feel it if that makes any sense. Also my skin has become very sensitive to sun, heat and certain fabrics like polyester, cashmere and wool.

Is anyone on Dupixent and does it help. I’ve been on it for 7 months the itch isn’t as intense but, I still have bad breakouts.

Hi Jennifer Bless you and your battles. I often think this is some kind of virus that when we are weakened, we are going to get nailed. I have 3 incidents, flu, minor surgery, I got sick and didn't get better. One I was given an antiviral after 2 months. Since having Covington, the PN has not gone away. Reading your story, it's no help from me but your immune system, yikes. Understanding a bit what is happening helps deal a bit. Bless you 🙏

Jennifer, what a terrible process you have to go through. Regarding Rx topicals, talk to your doc about Clobetasol, it's stronger and more effective than the Triam. Also, Tacrolimus is a non-steroid Rx that is also very effective against itch. I use the two in alternating 2-week cycles. I also find that a cool water soak can bring tremendous relief. Pulling for you.
