I had arthritis years before I got PN.

I was tested for RA by a rheumatologist, but that was before I developed PN. My RA factor was high, but not high enough for a diagnosis. I do have degenerative disc disease and stenosis.

My lesions are only in one spot - a line on my upper thigh. The hip on that side was replaced twice and the skin became numb after the first surgery . (Nevertheless it itches terribly.) My dermatologist and I suspect that nerve damage from the 1st surgery caused the Prurigo. Problems still with leg pain and walking etc. Went to a Spine pain guy who, after an MRI, has been giving me injections (a steroid and Novocain) between L3-4 and L 4-5. The sensation at the time of the shots runs right through the location of the Prurigo. And I think I am improving. Still taking Dupixent. Still itch.

Don't quit doctors - keep working to find the right ones. I've been lucky enough to assemble a great team. If you have one doctor you like, ask them for names of doctors they respect. That's what I have done and they have always done right by me. If a doctor isn't firmly on your side, work on finding a new one. Sadly, we cannot cure ourselves and we cannot prescribe on own Rx. : )

A charm bracelet sounds like a good idea! You are an inspiration! I am at a point of quitting all doctors
