Members overwhelmingly confirmed that nighttime flare-ups and intense itching are a shared and exhausting reality, with many describing being woken from sleep, scratching uncontrollably, and facing difficult next days from lack of rest. Several members offered practical strategies including wearing cotton gloves to prevent scratching, taking Benadryl before bed, eating low histamine foods, and using cold water for temporary relief, though many noted that short nails and other measures often feel futile against deep, relentless nerve pain. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of sleepless nights and the comfort found in knowing others truly understand this frustrating experience, with stress and the holiday season identified as common triggers that can intensify symptoms.

The short nails is almost funny. So much of the itch is deep down.
