I thought this was not hereditary? My 8 year old has had same skin issues for a few years now. Her doctor says it's just big bites or allergies. It looks just like mine. I'm starting to wonder if I'm misdiagnosed.
Well, my 50 yr old son is sure he has the same as I do on his scalp, exactly where my PN and LSC is. His is in the beginning stages and plans soon to see a Dermatologist. What is ironic he inherited some of my allergies what was called Hay Fever, and also has had 6 bouts of Shingles in his 40's. I had Shingles when I turned 60 but sounds like it can totally be inherited also. No matter what age your children are, it makes you feel so sad that they may have to deal with this horrendous, rare, no cure disease. My heart goes out to you Brandi, and your child. ❤️
Omg my best friend in Columbia her daughter just developed PN a couple of months ago…
I went to visit her in November and omg poor little thing… she’s 9 … ugh I felt her pain and it made her feel better that she’s not alone … she’s a little too young for this group but I told her when u get old enough we will be here !

Since PN can resemble other conditions, a misdiagnosis is possible. A dermatologist may perform a skin biopsy to confirm the diagnosis. If Show Full Answer
